We are working hard to bring Writopia to all kids who want or need creative writing workshops and instruction throughout Queens and Long Island. In order to accomplish this, we run parent-coordinated, Writopia-led workshops in those areas throughout the school year.
Would you like to become a Writopia Parent Coordinator? If so, we may be able to come to your home to run workshops.
Requirements: At least four children you know (including your child) must register for your in-home workshop; you must live within an hour of one our instructor's home; you must have an animal-free space in your home; your home must have Wi-Fi. If your home is over 30 minutes from the city, we typically create a bi-monthly or monthly schedule of two- or three-hour long sessions. If you live less than 30 minutes from one of our teacher's homes then we might be able to plan weekly sessions.
We can offer you a 50% discount for coordinating this. If six to seven kids enroll we can offer you the workshop at no cost.

Writopia Lab is a non-profit organization that runs year-round writing workshops for highly engaged kids and teens (ages 8-18). Workshops have a maximum of seven students, and are all led by a published author or a produced playwright. Writers who participate in our workshops read their original writing at local bookstores, see their stories published in our online literary magazine The PARENTHETICAL, and are eligible to have their work produced in Writopia’s annual Worldwide Plays Festival in New York City, sponsored by David Letterman’s production company Worldwide Pants.
