Five-Day Writing Workshop

These workshops meet five days in a row, generally Monday through Friday (some holiday weeks may vary). We will prorate fees for those who can only attend three or four sessions--please This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it !

Ten-Day Writing Workshop

These workshops meet Monday through Friday on two consecutive weeks.

Semester-Long Writing Workshop

These workshops meet one day a week during Fall, Winter, and Spring semesters. Weekday workshops meet for ten 75-minute sessions. Weekend workshops meet for eight two-hour sessions.

Memberships

Unlimited Summer Membership

Summer Unlimited Membership includes: access to as many workshops as desired throughout the summer. (We offer at least seven five-day writing workshops per summer per age group.)

Unlimited School-Year Membership includes: Three 10-week workshops throughout the year and two Five-day intensives over winter and spring breaks.

All-Year Unlimited Membership includes: access to as many workshops as desired throughout the summer and school year. (We offer weekly workshops throughout the school year, during all school breaks, and at least seven five-day writing workshops per summer per age group.)

Private Sessions

These one-hour sessions are usually requested by a) high school seniors developing their college essays; b) writers who wish to work on fiction, memoirs, or scripts individually before joining a workshop; c) writers who enjoy one-on-one editing and development; d) students struggling with expository writing (school essays). The fee is $95 an hour.

About the Sliding Scale Fees

Writopia Lab is a 501(c)3 nonprofit that operates with limited resources, relying heavily on support from the community to sustain our programs. So we ask those who can afford to pay the full price to do so. Also, if you can afford to pay the full price in monthly installments, that would be preferred as well. However, we realize that not everyone can afford the fee, so we have determined a sliding scale that includes a range of tuition amounts. Since we do not require any supporting documentation, we hope that you are honest in your assessment. The amount paid over $175 per child can be claimed as a donation on your taxes. Our nonprofit tax i.d. number is 26-0835350.


We will not be able to offer honor-based sliding scale discounts to those in need if those who can afford the fee choose to pay a discounted amount.

Writopia Lab's fees cover the expenses of running a workshop program and allow us to provide generous scholarships and flexible sliding scale fees. If you wish to support Writopia Lab, please make a donation to help families afford our services.
