Writopia is well known for its community of enthusiastic writers. But we have a growing number of families who have enrolled with the hope that a reluctant or hesitant writer would blossom here. Another concern we often hear is: “My child has great ideas, but has a tough time organizing these thoughts into coherent stories.” These young people also find a home at Writopia Lab--so much of what we do is help young people navigate the rocky waters between idea and story.

Below is some of the feedback we have received from parents of reluctant, hesitant, and, occasionally, intimidated writers:

“I just wanted to take a moment to thank you again for all of your amazing work with our 10-year-old daughter at the beginning of the summer.  I was blown away with how quickly you were able to bring her around from resistance to excitement and enjoyment. Now it's more fun and before it wasn't as fun. I don't know why it's more fun, I just enjoy it. Maybe it's because there are kids with me to share my ideas with.
