The Resources
We provide laptops for all of our participants at our labs. Pens and pads are also provided for those who prefer writing by hand.
Our Neighbors
Writopia mentors in NYC and DC regularly identify new ways to bring Writopia's unique youth literary culture into their communities. In Manhattan, several local businesses have displayed pieces written by Writopia Lab students as part of our Radiant Windows project. All also regularly run free readings that are always open to the public as well as occasional special events, such as Ghost Story writing parties.
Our Writers
Kids and teens come from public and private schools and organizations across the country, and from abroad. In 2008, 2009, and 2010, our students garnered more national awards from the Scholastic Art & Writing Awards than did any other group of students in the entire country!
