It’s been such a joy for Dara to be a part of the Writopia family for the past few years. She is a playwright, a screenwriter, and a novelist who received her MFA from New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts Dramatic Writing Program. In addition to teaching creative writing, screenwriting, playwriting, poetry, essay writing, and creative nonfiction, she is an advocate for youth literacy outreach and has worked as a reading and writing tutor and mentor for children with special needs. She also had the great pleasure of teaching theatre at the middle school level and coordinated productions of original one-act plays, written, directed and performed by brilliantly talented 8th grade students. Her experience working with students of all ages lead her back to school to earn a secondary education credential in English/Language Arts.
