Rachel Calnek-Sugin
Instructor

Rachel Calnek-Sugin's life was changed and her love of writing was nurtured when she joined a Writopia Lab workshop as a middle schooler, and Writopia soon became a home away from home. 14 years later, Rachel is a writer, educator, and almost-social worker committed to the openness of the soul in all its forms—and she's delighted to be part of the Writopia staff as an instructor. Rachel's plays have been produced or developed through Yale, Corkscrew, OntheVerge, Rattlestick Playwrights' Theater, and Watermark, and her prose can be found in Joyland, The Nashville Review, Vol 1 Brooklyn, SNARL, and elsewhere. Rachel currently lives in Brooklyn, teaches, and does therapy with youth impacted by mass incarceration.
