We had a beautiful end-of-trimester reading at the Brooklyn Public Library in Park Slope for our Brooklyn Lab writers on May 27th. For some of our readers, it was their first time sharing their work out loud for an audience. For others, they have read their work before, but this doesn’t make it less nerve-wracking. All of the Brooklyn writers who shared did so bravely and proudly! The best part of our readings is seeing writers shine on stage with the realization that their community, family, friends, and peers are rooting for them and care about their voices. During the post-reading Q&A a couple of their writing instructors asked them questions about their writing process and goals. The young writers responded in rich detail. We’re so proud of them!
