Dungeons & Dragons

Adventurers will spend the week playing a Dungeons & Dragons adventure run by Writopia Lab's experienced Dungeon Masters. D&D is the world’s most famous tabletop role-playing game, where players each control one adventurer — a spellcaster, a brutish fighter, a wily rogue, a healer — while the Dungeon Master guides them through the fantastical world around them. The players will be presented with challenges, areas to explore, victims to rescue, and monsters to dispatch.

Our Dungeon Masters will help the players select pre-generated characters or make their own characters, describe the world and the specific setting in which the characters find themselves, and spin tall tales of adventure in which the players get to shape the storyline. The characters controlled by the players are free to do what they want — but there are consequences to every action they take, so have fun and act wisely!

Indeed, in addition to being incredibly fun, Dungeons & Dragons campaigns foster collaboration, creative engagement, and critical thinking skills.

All Programming is Currently Online! (Unless otherwise noted)

To ensure the safety of our writers and employees, Writopia Lab moved all of our programming online in March of 2020. We have recently begun to offer a limited number of in-person programs. To facilitate the smoothest possible transition back to in-person programs, we make every effort to group writers based on location, so that groups that have been meeting online can come together once it is safe for us to return to our labs. That said, if you would like your young writer to workshop with young writers from other locations, please let us know in the "Notes" field on the Registration form and we can make that happen for you!

Weekly Workshops

These workshops meet every week, with a small number of days skipped for holidays. Next to each workshop listing is a "Dates" link that will reveal the exact dates each workshop meets and skips.

Time Zones

Because most of our programming is currently online, the four schedules presented on these tabs all represent the same set of workshops; we have simply listed them four times to make it easier for families to plan their schedules! Please use the tabs above to see our schedule in your time zone.
