
Winter Retreat 2023
Over the extended Martin Luther King, Jr. weekend, Writopia Lab's Winter Retreat offers three days and three nights of creativity and community. Writers will have their choice of three parallel paths in either Creative Arts, Role-Playing Games, or Writing Your Activism. Everyone will come together for meals and evening activities in a warm and creative environment.

Location: Camp Mariah in Dutchess County, New York
Tuition: $985 (limited financial aid available)
Creative Arts Track
Writers will participate in creative writing workshops over the long weekend. In addition, writers will have their choice of specialized electives including filmmaking, playwriting, fiction, poetry, songwriting, poetry hikes, and literature seminars.
Role-Playing Games Track
Adventurers will participate in writing workshops during the retreat, focusing on Sci-Fi & Fantasy. In addition, they'll spend their elective periods playing an extended Dungeons & Dragons adventure run by Writopia Lab's experienced Dungeon Masters.
Writing Your Activism Track
Activists will participate in writing workshops with a civic engagement focus over the long weekend. In addition, writers will have their choice of specialized electives including filmmaking, poetry, journalism, poetry hikes, and literature seminars.
