Imani Parker

Specialty Programs Coordinator

Imani Parker first joined Writopia as a WriCampia counselor in 2019, where she assisted Léna Roy in a creative writing workshop, co-led a dance elective, made meaningful friendships with her fellow counselors, and more. 

She holds an MFA in Fiction Writing from Columbia University’s School of the Arts and a BA in Creative Writing from Purchase College. In the past, Imani has served as a Fiction Reader at The Hudson Review, a juror at the Scholastic Art & Writing Awards, an Americorp Member at City Year New York, and an Event Production Intern at The Center for Fiction. She is an Event Coordinator and Editor at Brown Sugar Literary Magazine. Imani has been published in Embark Literary Journal, Columbia University’s 2023 Thesis Anthology, and Italics Mine. She has completed two manuscripts and is querying while working on her third novel. Imani is thrilled to make an impact as Writopia Lab’s Specialty Programs Coordinator in the Upper West Side.
